B.A Design & Communication

The BA in Design & Communication programme have been envisaged keeping in mind the dynamic nature of the Design Industry and the state of the industry around the world - with particular reference to the Indian market. As India strides forward, garnering international recognition, ICAT is determined to play a leading role in the building the future of India’s Design Industry. The College seeks to provide an educational experience comparable with the best in the world, and finds support in the College’s Strategic development plan. A three year Bachelor’s Degree programme with Honors provision has been well thought-out to address this need.v

The overall aim of the BA Design & Communication subject provision have been identified as follows

  • Enable the development of knowledge and strategic skills on a variety of platforms relating to the Design Industry
  • Enable one to acquire a critical and strategically informed perspective of the evolving technologies used in the Design Industry and their present applications and future developments in this industry
  • Provide students with theoretical as well as a practical understanding of the relevant principles and processes relating to the Design Industry
  • Ensure that students have a critical appreciation of their own work and that of their peers and articulate the same in a professional manner
  • Enhance the students interpersonal and project management skills which will enable them to be effective in a team based or networked production environment
  • Prepare the student for a career and related employment within their chosen specialty. The programme also aims to introduce and prepare its students for a career in the Design industry and at the same time maintain the academic ethos of a graduate study. This programme will also complement the programmes currently college is offering since 2006 on Digital Media. As both have a common ground in Design and Aesthetics.
