Course Overview
The Post Graduate Diploma course in Journalism - New Media, prepares students for a bullet in Journalism with special focus on reporting for the new media. This is accomplished by providing instruction that requires students to demonstrate a workingknowledge of the skills, laws, ethics, power and responsibilities of the new media.
The main goal of the program is to help students become accurate and thorough researchers, precise and graceful writers thereby producing competent professionals who demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of journalism and communications. With coverage of Print, Television and New Media, students will find opportunity in newspapers, news channels and new media agencies. An Internship at the end of the program aims at giving an opportunity for students to combine work experience and professional development to further enhance their formal education.

Introduction to Mass Communication & Journalism Top ▲
This introductory course helps student understand the fundamentals of mass communication and the different types of communication. Through case studies and in-class class assignments students are expected to develop stories on social issues, write a news report, structure a story, cover a press conference and handle a press note.

The Internship program is aimed to give the opportunity for students to combine work experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. At the end of the course students will undergo internship in various fields like Print/Broadcasting/New Media under the guidance of a supervisor, who will discuss their choice of research and guide them through the process.
