Two-Day Fashion Photography Workshop at ICAT, Chennai

A two-day intensive Fashion Photography workshop was conducted by Mr. Prateek Singhi, at the ICAT, Chennai campus on 10th & 11th of April, 2015. Students of UG Photography, UG Fashion and PG Advertisement participated in this session, which aimed at providing them the platform to learn the fundamentals of fashion lighting setup for a fashion photo shoot.

On the first day, students were trained to acquire strong fundamental skills in Photography and to fine tune their skills towards becoming successful Fashion Photographers. During the second day of the workshop, the students were given a real-time simulated environment to experiment their photography skills with varied lighting positions. The students were allowed to direct a professional female model during the shoot, in which professional stylists and Makeup Artists were involved. Students studied how to use the ambient light to one’s advantage and how to combine flash lights with ambient light for dramatic results. The interaction with Stylists, Makeup Artists and Models gave a real-time industry exposure and in-depth knowledge in their respective areas. In prolongation of this workshop, we look forward to more workshops focusing on modern studio lighting techniques.
