Pioneering Full Time Education in India

In the year 2003, the growing business opportunities in India in Animation, Visual FX and Gaming had created a need for producing high quality professionals having the skills to handle International projects with ease. This required a dedicated college to offer advanced specialized education on a Full time basis, which paved the way for opening ICAT – Image College of Arts, Animation & Technology in 2004. At a time when organizations like NASSCOM were advocating the need for Campus based training and Full Time Specialization, Image Infotainment Ltd. pioneered the thought by establishing ICAT. ICAT has been providing a holistic education in various Digital Media disciplines. It began by offering Post Graduate Diplomas in 3D Animation, Visual FX and Game Development. The shortage of specialized Game Designers paved the way for the launch of the course in Game Design in 2006.

Pioneering UG Degree Programs A survey among high school students by Image Infotainment Ltd from 2005-2006 revealed the students' awareness of Digital Media as an exciting career option, their eagerness to pursue a career in Digital Media and the want for a Full time College Level Degree Program. To address this need, ICAT launched 3 year Full time B.A. in Digital Media Degree programs in 2006, that would enable those who have completed Plus Two to pursue a Full time career in 3D Animation, Visual FX, Game Design and Game Development.
