Seminar on UI & UX Design

A seminar on UI/UX Design was conducted at ICAT, Chennai on 20 September, 2018, for the UG students of UID department. It was conducted by Mr. Rambal, Founder and Creative Director of Rillusion, a promising Branding and UI/UX Design Studio at Chennai. Mr. Rambal gave an overview of UI/UX, and further explained about user centered design, product development, usability principles, design strategies, information architecture, prototype building, how to improve the usability of a Website/design and so on.

He gave the students an activity to perform user-centred analysis and develop a conceptual design based on their own idea. Later he helped the students in understanding how to document the design strategy for their concept that includes business goal, target users, general tasks, technology constraints, marketing/branding goals, critical success factors and Key Performance Indicators.

The session helped the students to develop their ideas into designs and their designs into a Website, and make the Website more interactive. They got a clear understanding on how to analyze their audience and how to design keeping user experience in mind. Concepts like usability, art of design and user experience were also discussed. The students got to know the expectation of the industry and how to prepare themselves for the same. The seminar was completely engaging and enjoyable.
